SDC Industries Limited who are based in the Kelvin Industrial Estate has won a number of major contracts to manufacture and install Voltage Optimisation equipment in various locations throughout the UK.
In total, the projects are worth approximately £430,000.
Energy-saving Voltage Optimisation units will be installed in seven Department of Finance and Personnel sites across Northern Ireland; the NHS University of Manchester Hospital, Withenshawe; Clackmannanshire Council and Doncaster College.
Each client has employed an extensive energy efficiency and economic strategy throughout their buildings, and have decided to install SDC Industries Varmatic Voltage Optimisers as part of this strategy.
SDC MD Stephen Coombes said; “ Voltage Optimisation is a method of reducing carbon emissions and saving money on energy costs by improving the efficiency of voltage-dependent equipment, and reducing the number of kilo-watt hours used by voltage-dependent equipment.
“Voltage-dependent equipment incorporates, for example, lights, motors, lifts and various other types of equipment used within industrial and commercial premises and savings of up to 20% can be achieved.
“SDC Industries have been manufacturing Voltage Optimisation equipment since 2001 and since then, our clients have chosen to install SDC Industries' Varmatic Voltage Optimisers' - the LightMaster, Vario and Vario Ultra - in their switch rooms, helping them to reach their energy efficiency targets.
The company's customer base includes the HM Prison Service, local authorities, hotels, manufacturing plants and the NHS.
Local MP Michael McCann has been a long time supporter of the company and its products and he expressed his delight at the recent additions to the companies order book.
“SDC employs people in East Kilbride and produces a first class product which reduces energy consumption and is good for the environment.
“I have championed the product across the UK and I am pleased to say that its order book is filling up.
“However, there is still plenty of scope for this product to be placed in local authorities, government buildings and private companies across the UK and the globe and I am delighted that this product is being manufactured and distributed from East Kilbride.”
