Pupils from St John's Primary School have been helping to promote the Get Active Lanarkshire initiative.
In the run-up to the free Family Fun Day at Strathclyde Park Saturday 1 June the Hamilton pupils were at the park to support the Get Active Lanarkshire Campaign.
The campaign aims to encourage residents from all over Lanarkshire, both young and old, to increase their physical activity in the run up to and beyond the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Thieves targeted five separate clothing banks in East Kilbride over the bank holiday weekend.
The charities supplied clothing for people in Africa. Using specialised cutting gear, the robbers broke in and stole two tonnes of clothes.

EK Eagles Roller Hockey Report

With the season drawing to a close, only one of the Eagles sides was in action over the weekend. The under 12s travelled to Bo'ness to take on the Dundee Ducks, and put in a fine performance although eventually succumbed to a 10-7 defeat.
All the squad put in a great showing, with this ranking as one of their best performances of the season, matching league leaders almost goal for goal, and in the process showing just how far they have progressed in the last eighteen months.
Hockey Club says farewell to legend

Players past and present of EK/Avondale Hockey Club turned up in force on Saturday to take part in a specially arranged testimonial match for retiring club stalwart, Chris Rafferty.
Forced by injury into premature retirement, the game was an opportunity for present and former team members, as well as supporters, to show their appreciation for all Chris's effort and commitment over a 30 year career.

Fourteen cooks scoop eat safe award

Fourteen cooks in charge of school kitchens have passed a national food safety hygiene test with flying colours.
The cooks, who collectively provide more than 35,000 nutritionally balanced meals per week to primary and secondary school pupils, scooped the Food Standards Agency’s 'Eat Safe' food hygiene award.
Police Promote Road Safety in Lanarkshire

Police Scotland officers from Lanarkshire Division are keeping people and our roads safe by promoting road safety and enforcing road safety legislation.
High visibility police officers are patrolling the Lanarkshire area on a daily basis detecting drivers putting themselves and other road users in danger by either using their hand-held mobile phone whilst driving, not wearing a seatbelt or ensuring their passengers are wearing seatbelts or speeding. Some have also been stopped for driving without a current driving licence or insurance.
