William O’Connor is a Scottish medium with a wealth of experience under his belt. He explained “Lots of companies don’t care about the person who’s looking for a reading. They’re only interested in money and often the people manning the phone lines don’t have any legitimate psychic gifts. I’m sick and tired of people with no psychic ability whatsoever giving what is meant to pass as a reading. I wanted to set up a phone line where callers can speak to a genuine, legitimate clairvoyant or medium and get a genuine reading.”
William has been working as a psychic and medium for the past 30 years, providing private readings, carrying out platform work in front of sell out audiences and also working with the police. He assisted Strathclyde Police in 1997 in the murder investigation of prostitute Tracey Wylde, and also helped with the Moira Anderson investigation. William has also made numerous media appearances, including on Channel 4’s Cutting Edge, TV’s Unsolved Mysteries and Celtic Music Radio. William is also a healer and energy worker and holds a Quantum Reiki course at Glasgow’s College of Holistic Medicine.
William is currently recruiting for psychics to work under his auspices on the phone line. The positions have been advertised on the Job Centre website as well as Scotcareers. It tends to attract quite a bit of interest as a job title of “Genuine Psychics Needed” does grab one’s attention.
The job description contains the caveat “A range of skills are required, such as clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience etc; however, you MUST have a demonstrable connection with spirit and demonstrate mediumship.” The advert goes onto advise that these skills will be tested by William O’Connor. This is what sets Psychic Psychic apart from other psychic phone lines currently in operation.
Joanne Easton, Administrator at Psychic Psychic, said “I do tend to get quite a lot of calls whenever these adverts appear. Despite the words “genuine” appearing in the job title, and the description quite blatantly saying that applicants must have demonstrable psychic talent and be able to show a connection to spirit, some people have been calling to apply despite having no psychic ability at all. I have to tell them very gently that we are a legitimate phone line and are only looking for people who do have authentic psychic and medium abilities.”
William will not take on anyone whose abilities are not strong enough to meet his exacting standards. In order to test recruits’ abilities William puts them through some very rigorous testings. These include a “blindfold experiment” where he writes a name on a piece of paper then puts it face down on a chair. William then asks the candidate to tell him the name and on which chair the paper is located. This has led to some astounding moments, with one of the successful candidates not only telling William the name and correct position, but also going into detail about the person whose name it was.
Joanne said “Some people think they can bluff about their abilities. Once they actually meet with William and take part in his training sessions they soon realise there is no place for them to hide! William finds those with real talent, be they experienced clairvoyants or mediums, or those who have talent but have never used it officially, or ‘diamonds in the rough.’”
William also asks people to carry out test “readings” where applicants provide readings. Honest feedback is then collated with only the most accurate getting through to the next stage in the process. Medium readings take a slightly different format, with the candidate being asked to give a reading to someone who has suffered the loss of someone close to them, to which they have no prior information.
Another difference between Psychic Psychic and other psychic phone lines is that psychics will not be started on the phone lines and left to get on with it. Joanne said “William is very keen to provide his psychics with support and mentoring which is often not available to psychics working on other phone lines. It sounds a bit clichéd but at Psychic Psychic we regard ourselves as a family. We arrange gatherings and get togethers to give all of our psychics a chance to catch up. I am the point of contact for our psychics and contact them frequently, if only for a chat!”
`To date William has filled 10 posts at Psychic Psychic but is always on the look out for those with legitimate psychic abilities who want to work with him. Online applications can be made via the website www.psychicpsychic.co.uk.
